Clue is the world’s fastest growing period tracking and fertility app. We are a 45-person, VC-­backed startup based in Berlin. Every month, millions of users track data about their bodies in Clue’s iOS and Android apps. We are looking for an audience development and analytics expert who will bring Clue's content to millions of people.

Our vision is to provide science-backed information about health to women and all people with cycles. Clue’s new website will do this by producing and distributing digital content at the highest editorial standard. We don't want the site to simply promote our app—we want to be the best resource for female health on the internet.

This is a highly entrepreneurial role that will help shape the future of Clue. This person should know exactly how to drive organic growth from high-quality original content, and should be passionate about expanding global knowledge around female health. You must be open to trying anything and killing projects that don’t work. Taking on a big mission and a big project should excite you. As you succeed, you’ll be expected to help build our web team.


Roles and responsibilities

- Lead content growth strategy: You’ll work with Clue’s editor to develop and execute plans for growing the audience of Clue's web content, with a focus on organic growth.

- Work cross-functionally: You’ll be at the intersection of editorial, distribution platforms, and product. You’ll identify opportunities for organic audience growth and manage their implementation.

- Create a plan for every platform: You’ll guarantee that after a post is published, people will see it—on search, social, newsletter, YouTube, and emerging platforms—making sure that each distribution platform is optimized.

- Generate web analytics and figure out the best way to use them: You’ll translate data so that it informs content strategy while building internal tools and references.

- Understand and evangelize meaningful engagement metrics: You will keep up with the latest developments in the digital content and audience development world and adapt accordingly. You know the ethical importance of evidence-based, empathetic digital content, and can navigate the tension of producing this kind of content in a clickbait culture.

- Manage distribution of partner content campaigns: When we work with partners, you’ll make sure their content travels too, and provide reporting.


Requirements

- At least 3 years experience and expertise in audience growth for an English-language publisher and/or content marketing for a brand with a focus on high-quality original content

- Mastery of analytics tools, including but not limited to: Google Analytics, Parse.ly, Mailchimp, Amplitude, Omniture

- Utmost attention to detail

- Entrepreneurial spirit: an ability to identify what you need to get the job done, and then do it

- Project management and performance management skills

- A proven record of getting eyeballs on content that actually makes the world better

- Be really excited about building something from the ground up

This role will report to the site editor.
