As a VC-backed startup based in Berlin, Clue is on a mission to advance the state of menstrual and reproductive health.
We reach over 10 million people every month via our Android and iOS apps, helping them track data about their bodies, and gain insights into their health. Our website, helloclue.com, is filled with a vast array of articles on the topic of menstrual health, helping to close the global knowledge gap on these topics. We also further our mission by publishing the outcomes of our scientific research in conjunction with top universities and institutes.ROLE
As we grow from being a period tracker app to a full-fledged health companion, we’re continually having to ingest and make sense of data from more sources, store the data in a secure and auditable fashion, and enable our machine learning tools and data scientists to make use of the data that our users entrust us with.
It’s still early days in this process, and there’s always more to be done, so we’re looking for experienced Data Engineers who can help us build out our performant data ingestion and processing pipelines.
Currently we use Postgres (RDS) for the majority of our data storage, Amazon Kinesis for streaming data, with ETL jobs managed with Airflow and Redash, where data lands in Amazon Redshift as our primary Data Warehouse.
Working with our backend development and data science teams, you’ll play a big part in helping us grow our data-driven culture, applying your real-world architecture and implementation experience in the world of big data.
With an eye for detail, and a preference for well-tested code, you will have shared ownership of our codebase, infrastructure, and documentation.REQUIREMENTS
We would love you to have:
- Experience in designing and building data pipelines that are resilient to failures
- Familiarity with Big Data technologies on AWS and performance metrics
- Experience with machine learning and model training would be a plus
